Waiting on my bride

I am sitting here in my office at 5:16 pm on Friday evening awaiting the arrival of my wife. You see we are going out tonight to celebrate Valentine's day because we have a wedding to officiate on the 14th. We are going to a nice restaurant... just her and I. No kids... just her and I.

I am getting kind of antsy because I am thinking about what she will look like. Knowing Janis, she will look incredible.... So, my heart is racing just a little bit in anticipation.

I wonder if that is what God does immediately prior to a worship service. Sitting waiting on His bride to come to Him... adorned in her very best worship and praise. Hmmm.... does God get antsy? I think He might... in a good way.

Do we pay attention to the details, like my wife does? Do we put on our best? Not on the outside... but on the inside? Do we prepare to meet with our bridegroom? Or are we preoccupied with everything else that is going on around us?

Think about it... Let's purpose right now to not let anything distract us from meeting our bridegroom. I'll let you know how worship goes this week. Maybe you can let me know how it goes for you.
