Just Listen

I just heard a quote from Bill Bright that stirred me. He said, "If every christian were doing what you are doing, would we win the world in this generation?" Hits pretty hard, huh? Okay, so what do we do about it?

What if we really did what Jesus said? Not just believe it but do it. Think about it. If each of us made sharing the gospel and discipling those we win as our top priority of the day we would win our city in a short time. Each of us want to do that... but why don't we? I think some of it has to do with forgetting that we are living our lives... not for our own pleasure... but for our King. Paul said that our lives are not our own but they were bought at a price. So why do we live our lives as if we are in control...?

What if the Holy Spirit really was in control of my life. Would I be a little more sensitive to the guy at the check out line who is ready to hear the gospel? Would I encourage my neighbor instead of just waving? I think so.

I also think that I have been waiting on the Holy Spirit to do something... show me something... set off bells and whistles when I am supposed to do something. In other words... I have been waiting on Him... but really the Holy Spirit has been waiting on me.

I have a strong feeling that He (the Holy Spirit) knows how to reach the world with this generation. What do you think?
